Baan Extensions - Development Hosting

Definition

"Development-hosting" means the duplication or replication of the "Development/Test Environments" of the customer. Development, testing, bug-fixing, and deployment activities can be carried out in this duplicated environment prior to incorporating them on the customer's production environment. The duplicated environment is called the Hosted Development Environment.

Services

The Hosted Development Environment - a mirror of the customer's Development environment - is hosted at s e-technologies' AppsCenter, and is kept in sync with the customer's Development environment. This could include applying service packs, patches, upgrades, new customizations, etc. The Hosted Development Environment could be used to develop & test new components, apply and test patches/bug-fixes, upgrade and test new versions (application, operating system, database) etc.

Methodology

Assessment: Analyze the customers' current environment. Determine the number of customized components, technical complexity, frequency of patch application, etc. When the assessment is completed, the AppsCenter will submit a quote that includes a setup fee and a monthly maintenance fee to cover synchronization.

Setup: Create a duplicate environment at the AppsCenter that mirrors the customers' development environment.

Synchronization: Perform periodic synchronizations of the customer development environment and the AppsCenter hosted environments.

Support: When the customer requires bug fixes, enhancements, customizations, etc, AppsCenter will create and or apply these on the hosted environment. When the change is approved, it can be applied to the customer's development environment for acceptance testing. The customer would be responsible for applying the same bug fixes, enhancements, or customizations to their production environment after the same have been installed and tested in the development/test environment.

Effort

As a part of this service, s e-technologies will undertake the following:

• Perform the initial set-up and synchronization (hardware, OS, Database, application, service packs, customization etc)
• Periodic patch application to keep the system updated, based on release of patches from Baan and the customers approval and acceptance of the same to be applied.

Additional customizations/development can be performed as required by the customer.
